If you’ve been on twitter recently you’ve probably heard and/or seen this whole new Twitter buzz. Well, after using it for a few hours here’s my thought on it.

Looks like Black Milk’s going for more live percussion and instruments on “AOTY“, along with more synth joints like “Tronic” had. Not mad at all that it doesn’t have many sampled joints on it, still sounds dope. Really can’t wait for this to drop. I got my copy pre-ordered already, do you? Pre-Order it here!

I wanted to add something most beginners and a few more experienced producers might not have thought of, recording your own samples.

This is a fairly simple technique, but still extremely useful for certain kinds of production styles. This is essentially doubling your quantize resolution so you have more room to work with, or, so your production will have more of a live performance feel.
